Getting started
MCP setup
Connect LawDB to Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client.
Endpoints
| Client / capabilities | Server URL |
|---|---|
| Full tool set: Claude, Claude Code and generic MCP clients | https://lawdb.eu/mcp |
| ChatGPT connector: search and fetch | https://lawdb.eu/mcp/chatgpt |
Claude: sign in with OAuth
Add https://lawdb.eu/mcp as a connector in Claude. Claude discovers the sign-in flow, shows the consent dialog and stores the token. You need a LawDB account with a verified email address.
ChatGPT and scripts: sign in with a token
Sign in to LawDB and create a personal access token under “Account and API keys” with the mcp:use ability. Supply it as a bearer token in your client. Use /mcp/chatgpt for the ChatGPT connector.
Authorization: Bearer <your token>
Test the connection
First have your client load the available tools. At the full endpoint, call list_jurisdictions to obtain filter values and then run a search. At the ChatGPT endpoint, use search followed by fetch.
Tools and sources
search_legal_documents searches legislation and case law; get_document retrieves texts. Use search_provisions to search inside a named act and get_provision to read a single provision. list_jurisdictions supplies valid jurisdiction, language and court filters.
Full-text search and – when enabled – vector search over validated AI analyses complement each other. search_modes reports the modes that actually ran. See “Citing and language versions” for paragraph numbers, summaries and language selection.
