Use the response
Pass a result’s id to get_document. url links to the document and matched_passages[].anchor_url to the exact passage. Decisions may include a short ai_summary. search_modes reports the search modes actually used.
This tool ranks whole documents and returns at most three matched provisions per act. Use search_provisions for every matching provision within a known act. For a question covering both legislation and case law, make two calls with different document_type values.
Versions and limits
Repealed acts remain searchable and carry act_status: repealed. Identical displayed passages may be grouped across historical versions; matched_versions links the versions. identical_passages only describes those passages, not the entire act.
