Getting started
Citing and language versions
Cite precise passages and distinguish original wording, versions and AI analysis.
Paragraph numbers and provisions
- Official paragraph numbers appear in the text as [Rn. 42]. Use them when citing.
- If a source has no paragraph numbering, the response says so. Do not invent numbers.
- For legislation, state the official provision marker and relevant version. Check is_current, point_in_time and act_status, especially for historical or repealed acts.
Reuse precise links
Use the returned url and anchor_url values unchanged. A provision or passage link is more precise than a whole-document link. source.url identifies the official source; include it as an additional reference when the exact wording is central to the claim.
Interpret AI summaries
AI summaries are machine-generated and checked against verbatim source quotations. This check does not verify every legal conclusion drawn from them. Label summaries as AI analysis and check decisive statements against the original text.
Analyses exist in German or English only, independently of the text language. ai_summary.language identifies the delivered analysis language. A missing summary does not mean the original text is missing.
Choose a language version
EU documents may exist in up to 24 languages. available_languages lists those actually held; set language when retrieving the wording you need. Observe notices identifying non-official translations and any translation credits.
